James Carson Breckinridge, on "Tactical Problems"

This essay was found in the papers of James Carson Breckinridge (Box 19, Folder 4) on file at the Marine Corps Archives in Quantico, Virginia.  While the essay bears no date, and does not seem to have been published, it was found among papers, all of which seem to have been typed on the same typewriter, that were signed by “Major General James C. Breckinridge.”  As Breckinridge was promoted to this rank on 1 February 1935, it is likely that the essay was typed at some point after that date.  The notes to this edition of this essay were written by Bruce I.
