Eastern Front Decision Forcing Case

AndrewM
I am interested in creating a DFC pertaining to the Eastern European front. Can anyone provide a good start point or resources?  Thank you in advance.

A good place to look for good accounts of engagements that took place on the Eastern Front during World War II is the website of the Combat Studies Institute.

There are a couple of ways to search this collection.  One is to look at this list of publications dealing with World War II.  Another is to use this "landing page" at the Digital Library of the Combined Arms Research Library at Fort Leavenworth.

You can also do a general search in the Digital Library at the Combined Arms Research Library (CARL) at Fort Leavenworth.  This will kick up material that was produced by organizations other than the Combat Studies Institute.

However, as there is a lot of material here, I would first look elsewhere for an engagement to study and then use searches in the Digital Library to find additional information.

Another good resource for information on engagements on the Eastern Front is the Axis History Forum.  Some of the folks who contribute to discussions there have a great deal of detailed knowledge about particular engagements.

You may also want to look at this doctoral thesis, which is about fighting in Estonia in 1944.
