Bloom's Taxonomy: Have We Turned It Upside Down?

This article, from The Oxford Review, argues that one of the staple elements of present-day educational theory, Bloom's Taxonomy, is often misunderstood.  In particular, it claims that Bloom never intended for his scheme to serve as a model for the way that people actually learn things.  Rather, it was merely a way of describing different kinds of learning.  

Another important point that the author of this article makes is that learning often begins with evaluation.  That is, before we start to learn something, we make judgements about its value.
